Since I met kaka, I am a little more careful of what I wear. I realized that clothes and style tell a lot about people. The effort put into small stylish details and looking confident tells how much a person pays to looking presentable. It also tells how much time the person have to invest on looking presentable. Good, unique and stylish clothes not only reflects a person's artistic inclination but also reflect how resourceful the person is. Expensive clothes, of course tells others that this person has a lot of resources, in other words $$$. But depending on the wearer, expensive clothes can be gawdy on someone who doesnt know how to match them to oneself. Unique clothes on the other hand, can show others how capable a person is in sourcing for things, or in other resourceful. When I was a student, I am very impressed with stylish guys. Part of the reason is cos I never knew where they could such clothes. From the animal point of view, the impression of resourcefulness gives female partners a sense of security. One of the books, "Decoding Love" highlights the phrase "cheap sperm and precious egg". The woman always look for a male who is able to stay faithful and provide for her. Over the years in Japan, I have been trying to pinpoint why Japanese guys are cool. From what I got to realize is that Japanese guys are cool because they pay attention to their overall look. This means that from hair, glasses, eyebrow, physique and shoes, they are made to package together with his clothes. There are many times when I was residing in Japan, I see very rich Chinese tourists walk into shops. They may wear the same clothes as the Japanese locals but somehow they just lack the same charismatic factor. Maybe their hair is too done, a little a bit of tummy, poor posture or a little noisy... I dont know (just my narrow point of view). The posture is quite important.

Well, this is just my point of view. Maybe I am wrong.

I was reading Fight club. The lead character was lamenting how friends were leaving him after their marriages. Some friends, you dont hear from them, after they found their girlfriends. One of them was Jonathon, the guy who lived near me. We studied together and exchanged notes quite regularly.

Anyway, I met him at the bus stop after he got married. I remembered trying to call him multiple times to inform him that I am leaving for Japan for studies but he did not call back. And "poof", Jon told me that he is already married.

Jon's mother is an insurance agent, who dotes on him so much that I sometimes felt she might be the sole reason why Jon is a weakling. Maybe I am in no position to think of Jon as a weakling. If marriage is a rat race, I am probably a loser and weakling from his point of view.

I like people who focus on walking. I like pedestrians to watch where they are heading. Instead of watching their electronic hand held screens. How often do you have a someone stop, look at you and move to your side cos they did not see until you were right in front of them ?

I dont know who still hangs around at livejournal to read my blog. I guessed the active livejournal users might had already removed me from their list, thinking that I am already "dead". For those who are not using their account anymore, they probably would not bother to remove me from their list cos it doesnt matter who is on their list anyway.

Maybe I am blogging to "ghosts". But maybe that is what blogging is about. Just recording for own reference.

First, it was NKF, followed by Ren Ci and now it is Red Cross. It seems like charities are not what it seems, pocketing their own share of their donated wealth, as reported the papers.

Jess was telling us about how uniform groups like NPCC (Police Cadet) and NCC (National Cadet) in her secondary school are getting subsidies for their uniforms, while the members of her Red Cross Society have to buy their own uniforms. Jade and I agreed that it is only reasonable that her Red Cross members buy their own uniforms as Red Cross is a charity organization and if the organization had subsidized the uniforms, they would lose their credibility.

Dad was even more interesting when he spoke about St John's. He said something like when he was very young, after flag day, during money counting, he had seen the students would stash the money into their long white socks. He added, "That is why St John kept the white sock as their uniform !" I was like -_-"
